    Tournaments - April 1 -22

    Bourque-Festa-Fields Chess Championship

  • 4-SS G/75; +30 for Open; All other sections play G/60; d5

  • Players in lower sections can use the longer time control if both players agree to do so.

  • 3 Sections: Mark Bourque Open, Luca Festa U1800, Benjamin Fields U1200 (Players within 200 points of their section ceiling have option to play up one section)

  • Entry fee: $10 member entry; 30 (non-members entry)

  • Prizes: Winners get their names immortalized! Medals

  • Registration: Enter online register here or by 6:45 pm on April 1.

  • Round times: 7:15pm for Round 1. 7:00pm prompt for weeks 2-4.

  • Regular rated (USCF membership is required)

  • Weather related announcements will be made by 5:00 p.m. and posted on the calendar and on the website

    2025 Planet Earth Chess Championship - Sunday, June 1, 2025 - Wickham Park, Manchester, CT

  • 3-SS G/60; d5 for Open; U1600 & Scholastic (U1000) play 5-SS G/25; d5

  • Entry fee: $45 Early Entry (5/27); $60 Late entry. Lunch is included.

  • Prizes: $300 b/15 in Open Section; Trophies and Medals in U1600 and scholastic section.

  • Registration: Enter online register here.

  • Round times: 10:15 a.m. for round 1. Subsequent rounds ASAP.

  • Regular rated (USCF membership is required)

    Tournaments - General Information
  • Tournaments are open to the public, and equipment is provided by the NBCC unless stated otherwise.

  • Tournaments generally begin at 7:00-7:15 pm on Tuesdays.

  • NBCC members enjoy reduced tournament entry rates.

  • NBCC tournaments are USCF-rated (United States Chess Federation) unless stated otherwise, and they require an active USCF membership (separate from NBCC membership). Click here to join.

  • Blitz and some quick tournaments take place on a single date, while longer time-controlled tournaments are spread out over several weeks.

Member Perk: Chess lecture before games (Tuesdays, 6:15-7:00 pm).

Lecture is open to all members, no registration required.
