Nov 12: Grandmaster Sam Shankland vs Yalies Sam Shankland is an American chess grand master. With a current FIDE rating of 2646, he is currently ranked 7th in the United States and has held his spot in the world top 100 list in the past few years. In 2014, GM Shankland represented the US in the 2014 World Chess Olympiad in Norway and won a gold medal for the country. In that tournament, he was undefeated with a score of 9/10 and a had an all-time high performance rating of 2829. GM Shankland will be coming to Yale on Thursday Nov 12, 2015 for a simultaneous exhibition (he will be playing 15 players at the same time) from 9:30-11:00pm @ Bass L70. Since the simul is limited to only 15 players, please RSVP and we will notify you if you are selected to attend.
